Starting A Clothing Line Using Tik Tok with Print On Demand

A few weeks ago I connected with a 14 year old entrepreneur who was searching for ways to start a clothing brand, but as you can expect, he didn’t have hundreds of dollars to launch the traditional way. So he turned to YouTube and stumbled onto our channel and started his brand with no money down using a unique Print On Demand model. But instead of trying to market his brand using influencers or paying for ads, he launched it using Tik Tok. The result of his marketing efforts? He sold over 300 products (thousands of dollars) with his first Tik Tok post!

Meet Aaron Founder of Melk Clothing

Aaron is just like any other teenager out there. He’s always had an itch for being an entrepreneur and more recently started creating designs for apparel with his first product idea centered around a milk carton. Can you guess what the name of the brand is? Melk!

When he thought of marketing the brand, he obviously wasn’t thinking Facebook ads or even Instagram promotions. Naturally, he was using Tik Tok, so he created a brand account and posted his first video. Overnight the video took off, resulting in hundreds of thousands of views to his page.

The video which you can Watch Here simply showed him sharing his drawings on the platform. From there he built a nice demand for his products and he continued to design for his target market.

Know Your Audience

Often times entrepreneurs overcomplicate things and they want to create something they don’t understand. By staying true to who you are, and testing the waters with designs using a Print on Demand app such as Apliiq, you have no risk and HUGE upside!

Which highlights one of the most important things you need to know as an entrepreneur and that is knowing who your audience is. Being a teenager he knew his audience would be teens, and by sharing drawings he would wear (on a platform full of teens), he quickly found out others enjoyed them as well.

Continue To Grow

Having videos go viral on Tik Tok is difficult and recreating that magic is even harder! So the next thing you need to consider is how can you work with numerous people on the platform to share the products you are making. It’s difficult to grow a brand if you’re constantly the only one marketing. But you have to put in the initial work in order for others to see your direction. By proving success on your own first, the doors open for you to be able to work with other influencers.

That’s an important component that Aaron is now ironing out, in addition to cutting down his cost and expanding his clothing designs.

So if you’re interested in the nuts and bolts of HOW he did it, checkout the latest video on our channel which walks you through his process. From eCommerce, to design, and even making hit Tik Tok videos in real time.
